  Backup the Sitecore V5.0.2.0 Databases

In order to upgrade your Sitecore 5.0.2.0 site, you will need backup versions of your Sitecore SQL Server databases.  This section describes the steps required to produce the backup versions.

  1. Start the Microsoft SQL Server Enterprise Manager.
  2. Locate the Sitecore databases, these usually have a name such as scArchive.
  3. Right click on the database and select the All Tasks » Backup Database... popup menu command.
  4. Specify a backup location and file name, such as c:\temp\scArchive.bak.
  5. Perform the backup for all Sitecore databases.
